A warm welcome to Sweden, Karlstad and to Karlstads University! Going abroad for one semester is both a new and exciting chapter in your life. Coming to Sweden there are problably a number of things that can seem to be quite odd for you as a exchange student at the very first sight. But do not be scared! Those things you will get used to during your stay here in Karlstad and in Sweden.
Every year Karlstad University receives close to 400 international students from different countries. When Nate Léon from France decided to try student life in another country the choice fell on Sweden and Karlstad, which today is a decision he doesn’t regret.
Every year thousands of students pack their bags and leave Sweden to study abroad. Some of these students travel from our very own university here in Karlstad. They leave family and friends behind to try a new way of living and studying in another country, and return home with new experiences and friends. Of course, studying abroad also entail a lot of preparations, and a lot of courage.
Sometimes the number of pages of course literature seems endless. Reading becomes a chore, and perhaps reading for the sake of fun just is no fun anymore? It can be hard to work up any enthusiasm for reading, even for your favorite Harry Potter book or the latest thriller from that author you love. However, today there are more ways to read than the classic hardback novel, and perhaps getting your reading groove back means trying something new?
